Training on Report/Article Writing and Camera Perspectives

On April 6 2018, World Dynamics of Young People (WDYP) conducted a training on report and article writing and basic film making skills. The participants of the Ecumenical Service for Peace (SeP) gathered in the Norbert Kenne Memorial Peace House in Yaounde.

After a short presentation about the work of WDYP, Michel FOKOU, Coordinator of Audiovisual Productions at WDYP, took over to guide the first half of the seminar day. The workshop included sessions on note-taking, report writing, and an input on how to write articles for online sources. Each session was followed by a group work to offer an opportunity to the participants to put the newly acquired knowledge to the test.

A presentation of the group works followed and the results were discussed in plenary.

The second part of the seminar focused mainly on basic film making skills. Benedikt IVANOVS, WDYP’s Civil Peace Service (CPS) professional, tried to present answers to the following questions: Which camera perspective to choose for which scene? How to make the most of the camera options? And how to reach quality results to enhance the organization’s visibility in the field of online communication?

At the end of the day, the participants of the Ecumenical Service for Peace (SeP) stressed the study progress and the importance of topics touched upon. Furthermore, they will try to integrate the newly won insights in their work.

It was up to SeP’s Director, Mr Fomekung Solomon Hope, to speak a few closing words in which he thanked the WDYP staff for their work and dedication.

In return, WDYP thanked the Ecumenical Service for Peace for the hospitality and stressed the will for further cooperation between the two organizations.
